Use the size that doesn't hurt you the most. I would start with the 5-pound set and do 3 sets of 10-15 reps; rest a minute; do 3 more sets; rest another minute; then do a final 3 sets. If your biceps aren't straining by the last set, you need to move up to the next weight you have. What size dumbbells should i use i am a beginner?
well find the weight that makes you tired and unable to do more after 15 reps. but i would suggest you talk to someone about proper lifting. or at least look it up. (because you seem young and younger people tend to injure themselves because lack of knowledge on weightlifting)
Get yourself some three's, then use three, then five, then you can combine three's and five's to make eights. Plastic-covered barbells are worth the extra money over ';ironman'; types.
start low. this will avoid pulled muscles.
