Is Merano a good flute brand for a beginner?

I just started playing the flute for my high school band. I want a closed hole flute for a good price. Is Merano a good brand to buy? Can you recommended any other brands? Is Merano a good flute brand for a beginner?
This flute is TRASH. The person who said that it is ';close to professional'; is delusional. There is NO SUCH BRAND - the factories that make these will put ANY name you want on them. Get a decent flute, even used - a Yamaha, Jupiter, Emerson, Etc. If you go to a REPUTABLE site like www.fluteworld.com, you can see what brands are sold there, and let that guide you in your search. Do not get a Gemeinhardt, Armstrong, or Artley - these were my top recommendations 25 years ago, but those companies have fallen onto hard times, and their flutes do not compare at all to the brands I have listed above.

Good luck with your flute playing - and enjoy being in band!Is Merano a good flute brand for a beginner?
my friend started with this one.

WD406 (Merano Student Flute Outfit)

Standard Key of C. Quality pads. Closed Hole. All of the features you will find on a quality student Flute. It's also backed by a 1 year warranty to the original owner.

this, according to him, is close to professional flute.
No experience from Merano but I can at least recommend Yamaha, they are not too pricey but still are of good basic quality.
