i am just starting piano, but i want to get a nice, keyboard that sounds good. i don't want some cheapy, crappy toy.
if you know any good brands and models, that aren't too expensive, it would be way helpful. What is a good type of keyboard for a beginner?
Take a poke around ur neighborhood and see if anyone doesn't want their keyboard...just make sure its in gd condition!
If that fails u probably should check out the newspapers for some second hand keyboards...
If that fails too u would want to go and check out Yamaha's keyboards...they're at a reasonable price i believe...
However...if u are serious u would probably want to get a real piano after maybe a year or two...since the early stages would give u a chance to assess urself whether it would be worth it...ur teacher would give u feedback too...Just make sure u take it!What is a good type of keyboard for a beginner?
a good brand is Yamaha. as you've just started piano i would suggest to chose a keyboard with weighted keys (88 key model) so it has a similar feeling like playing on a grand piano.
check this list of Yamaha keyboards

recommended models
- Yamaha Arius YDP140 Digital Piano
- Yamaha YPG-625 88-Key Weighted Action Portable Grand Keyboard
fisherprice. the thing is usually a 4th off though (the C is always really an F or something) in the toy store.
